240522 – Goffriller Model Cello – 2023
Description
Matteo Goffriller, one of the most illustrious luthiers of the Baroque period, is known for his cellos that combine aesthetic beauty and extraordinary sound quality. Working in Venice, he created instruments cherished for their exceptional quality. The choice to create a Goffriller model in Udine, which was once part of the Republic of Venice, celebrates this historical and cultural legacy. Cello 240522 is inspired by Goffriller's famous "The Luthien," emulating its distinctive characteristics.
This cello features a top plate made from high-quality spruce, selected for its excellent acoustic properties. The straight and even grain ensures optimal sound response. The two-piece back, made from Balkan maple, showcases narrow and deep flaming, giving the instrument a distinctive aesthetic. The modern orange-brown varnish gives the cello a refined and sophisticated appearance, while the glossy finish highlights the natural grain of the wood, enhancing the instrument's inherent beauty. The fittings are made by "Bogaro & Clemente" in Italy, using high-quality materials to ensure excellent performance.
This cello offers a warm and balanced sound, with great clarity and projection. Its rich and powerful voice is ideal for a wide range of musical repertoires, making it perfect for demanding musicians.
Cello 240522 is crafted in the Liuteria Zerilli workshop and personally varnished and set up by Luca Zerilli. Each instrument reflects a dedication to artisanal excellence and attention to detail, ensuring superior quality for the most discerning musicians.
